We will meet (on Zoom) to discuss Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson on Thursday, June 24 at 4:00 pm. Please share with anyone who may be interested.
Participants will need to register in advance for this Zoom meeting using the following link:

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
Nina Ferry at the Oak Bluffs Library has several copies of the book available to check out. If anyone is interested in reading online through Overdrive or Libby, and they have Oak Bluffs library cards, OB Library happens to own a lot of copies of the title in e-audio or e-book format. (With the online access to ebooks, preference goes to the owning library’s users when holds are placed, which is why she specified Oak Bluffs card holders will be able to read it without a long wait.) Here is the link to their webpage that is full of information and additional downloadable flyers to assist patrons looking to start with e-books and audiobooks for the first time. It can be found under the “e-resources” tab on their website. Nina forwarded a flyer to assist with accessing e-books and audio books.
Looking forward to our discussion later this month!
In peace & love,
Leigh Ann Yuen

Coffee Hour 2020
Well… Coffee Hour in 2020 started off after the holidays on a fine foot – decent turnout (for winter), the chatter and footsteps of hungry little people from the Nursery, good conversation. A time to touch base, catch up, laugh, commiserate and complain. And, not least of all, snack on the wonderful goodies supplied by our faithful committee: Bonnie Deitz, Susan Ostrowski, Sara Barrington, Poli and Adam Wilson, Laura Noonan, June Ellien, Mary Lollis, Ann Barnett, Heather Anne Slayton, Chris White, Wes and Sandy Mott, Jessica Buckley, Marcia Fenn, Tot Balay and Mardi Moran Yum.
And then COVID and the shutdown. Our last in-person Coffee Hour in 2020 was on March 15th. (Directly after the last in-person service held at St. Andrew’s Church in 2020.) Thanks to Poli Wilson and Father Chip, the ball began rolling again via ZOOM at the end of April and continues to the present time –on the second and fourth Sunday of each month at 10:00am. Invites go out via Constant Contact.
The people who have chosen to join “Coffee and Chat Hour” openly express how grateful they feel that the group continues; to touch base with each other in an informal setting, even remotely, is a much-needed relief from the strain and loneliness of these past months.
Join us if you can and spread the word! it is open to anyone that cares to come -even for a one-time drop in. (Poli’s mom even joined us from Brazil for The Blessing of the Animals, along with cute doggie Tchai Latte!)
Gratefully Submitted, Heather Anne Slayton
