Faith In Action

St. Andrews Episcopal Church

Community

December 2025

Community Suppers are returning at St. Andrew’s on Monday evenings, starting in January, 2026.

Sara Barrington is the point of contact and we are grateful to the many volunteers who have already offered to help cook and serve on Monday evenings. A sign-up sheet is available in the Parish Hall.  We are looking for at least 2 cooks per Monday, as well as a helper to serve and clean up. We will also need someone to deliver the 15+ to-go meals to Harbor Homes at the winter shelter, 111 New York Ave, Oak Bluffs. Please sign up if you are available, or reach out to Sara at parishlife@standrewsmv.org  with your available dates and she will put you in the schedule.  Lastly, if you have any contacts or resources of anyone willing to donate their time, food, or funds to this impactful cause, please let us know and put them in touch with Sara or the church. We are so excited to continue this important mission for our beloved island community.

Thank you for your kind hearts!

Sara B.

The 8th Annual Darkness into Vineyard Light Suicide Prevention and Awareness walk was on Saturday September 20, 2025.  The walk began before sunrise and continued until after day break. This is symbolic of coming out of the darkness of depression and mental illness, into the light of hope and healing.

Darkness into Vineyard Light, Inc. is thrilled to announce we are now a 501c3 non-profit organization. The mission of Darkness into Vineyard Light Inc. is to raise awareness and break the silence surrounding suicide and suicidal ideation. By publicly addressing death by suicide, we aim to offer hope and support to individuals, families, and friends. In addition, we aim to provide educational resources and share information for those beset with mental illness as we advocate for change. Everyone deserves compassion, understanding, and a chance to find hope, even in the darkest moments.
